Regulations. Every country has its own regulations of which you will be advised, and although we will carry out most of the documentation, we will occasionally need your co-operation. to some countries, an Import Permit is required and therefore time must be allowed for this to be obtained. Your pet may need blood tests, vaccinations or just a Certificate of Health; but do nothing until we have outlined the requirements
Your Pet's Reservation Special reservations are needed for any animal. Please book well in advance - so that we have enough time to make all the necesary arrangements. Freight charges These charges are based on the size of the kennel used, rather than the actual weight Pre-flight preparation It is recommended that you request your pet's travel kennel a few days before departure, this will help in familiarizing your pet with it. Flight departure The booking that will be made, will be on the most suitable flight available. Your pet's will be delivered by us to the airport and exercised just before being handed in; also, you will be advised of your pet's departure. Quotation With only knowing a few details we can give an estimated cost. However, were you to complete and return the perforated section, we will then supply you with a quotation. A quotation with which we are sure you will be pleased, as with our service. Boarding Circumstances may necessitate you having to kennel your pet's. We can give you both information and advice about such boarding facilities, whether local or international. We can also arrange boarding and transport to/from the kennel or cattery of your own choice. We offer our own local affiliated boarding kennels (Copperdog Kennels & Kitty Nurseries) to our clientele, which are subject to the same high standards as all reputable kennels. Please arrange well in advance to avoid disappointment, and remember to keep your pet's vet book up to date. The journey Unless your veterinary surgeon expressly advises to the contrary, then we would strongly advise that you do not sedate your pet for the journey. Our experience shows that without doubt they will adapt better when they are fully aware of what is happening around them. Sedation is unlikely to last for longer trips in any case and there is the risk that they may well "wake up" during the trip and become extremely distressed. In general, sedated pets certainly seem to take longer to settle . Your pet/s will travel in a specially pressurised and heated section of the aircraft as manifest cargo This means that it will be known that livestock is on board and special care will be taken. Do not feed your pet on the day of the flight. |
How to measure your dog for the Air travel kennel
A. Measure tip of nose to the root of the dog's tail. (DO NOT INCLUDE THE TAIL IN THIS MEASUREMENT) B. Measure from the ground to the top of the dog's head with the dog in a standing position. C. Measure the width across the dog's shoulders. Much of your dog's comfort and well being during the journey depends on the size of the travel kennel, which must be comfortable and secure. The international Air Transport Association has studied the shipment of dogs and cats by air and has published minimum acceptable standards in container design. The size of the travel kennel is especially important, as it must be large enough for the animal to be able to stand upright, turn around and lie down during transit. Do not fall into the trap of thinking "the bigger the better". A pet does not feel happy in a crate which is too large, what's more, you could and up paying much more than necessary for the shipment of your animal.
