Pets are required to enter South Africa as manifested cargo and can only travel through Cape Town and Johannesburg International Airports.
All pets must be micro-chipped before arriving.
All pets are to travel with a valid Veterinary Import Permit from the Department of Agriculture in South Africa.
Dogs and Cats are to have a Rabies vaccination that is at least 30 days old before departure, except when travelling from the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Cats are not routinely quarantined on arrival in SA.
Dogs entering SA from certain countries will be quarantined for a maximum period of 14 days in either Cape Town or Johannesburg.
Dogs are required to have several blood tests before travelling to South Africa.
